27 months old...

I realized I haven't done a Reese update for awhile so those of you who hate this can skip along to something else.

Reese is getting so big! She's super cute and doing funny things all the time. Here's some random things about her or that she's done in the past 3 months.

-She loves to play and especially right now with her babies, dishes and fake food. She's started this whole new level of pretend play where she fully gets into her food and babies. She talks to them, feeds them, puts them down for naps, takes them for walks in her stroller, goes on picnics, cooks dinner, makes cookies and cakes and just has fun.

-She loves her little tykes car and is constantly driving to walmart or winco. She pretends it's raining sometimes and runs to her car super fast and gets in and says, "Oh phew!". She loves to fill it up with gas and take her little elmo purse around with her few coins or "monies" as she calls them. It's really fun to see her really get into things and just play like that for hours.

-She still is an avid reader and loves books. She knows some books so well she could read them to us. Her favorite is this "Christmas Tree" book and yes, we are a lil sick of it, but ya know. She also loves the books we get from the library each week and really enjoys this book about big bird when he gets sick. She also enjoys books on baseball.

-She is talking so much and knows and recognizes things like crazy. Her memory is amazing and you can't get away with telling her something and hoping she'll forget, because that never happens. She constantly spots airplanes, birds or "beardies" as she calls them, baseball or soccer fields, basketball hoops, playgrounds, parks, trucks, cars and so on. She'll name the colors of all of the things she sees too. Although she does get orange mixed up a lot with red. She is getting better though.

-She loves to count and usually starts with two instead of one. Many times she'll count something and do it twice. So if there were 3 grapes she'd say there were 6. She then will say, "ah, ah, ah, ah, ah!" sometimes after she counts like the Count on sesame street does. She gets 6 and 9 mixed up a little but she'll count all the way to 15 and 20 with some help.

-She loves to sing her abc's and gets messed up right q, r, s...she skips that part and goes to the end. It's funny, but she does know all her letters and a word that begins with that letter. She used to call W, "double x", but now has it down. She does call the letter "x", the letter "k" though. Other than that she's perfect. We're now practicing their sounds.

-She loves to watercolor paint and use her fingers in the paint too. It's so cute when she paints and she talks outloud and says, "I dip a water!" when she puts her brush in the water.

-She also knows people's names so well. She remembers everyone and will call them by name when she sees them. Today at church she walked out of sacrament meeting and walked up to her friend, Kardynn's dad and said, "Hi Chris!" and moved along. It was so cute and so nonchalant. It was like he was her friend and she was saying, what's up! It's just really cute the way she calls people out and says hi to them. She thinks her friends are me and Jake's friends and they are, but you know.

-She really loves the park/play ground. She loves the swings and is very particular about which was she sits in them. She loves to have underdogs and asks for them over and over again. She also likes the slides and especially loves climbing up them right now. She is getting over her fear of things and likes to swing at the top bar of the slide before coming down. She even likes to climb up the ladders and hold onto the monkey bars.

-She's one of the top gymnasts in her class. She does everything so well and loves it. She has recently learned to gallop and it's so dang cute I can't stand it. She really loves to jump and is getting so good at it. She also loves to swing on the bars and walk the balance beams. She is also getting good at somersaults. She is just super strong.

-She really loves to dance and constantly asks for music so that she can dance. She has her own dance mix of 8 songs that are her favorites. They are in no particular order, Alejandro (the current fave), Bulletproof, Hey, Soul Sister, Fireflies, Forever, She Wolf, Down, Party in the USA. She'll sweat up a storm, gallop around, shake her booty, dance with her babies, and move her body like crazy. We have a good time!

-She loves to read her scriptures at night and picks where we read from. She listens so well and is really intent which is really cool.

-She loves to ribbit down the hall at night before bed like a frog and at other times as well, but especially then.

-The girl will not go to the bathroom on the toilet. She was on there for 2 hours yesterday and nothing. She even drank a whole sippy cup while there. We danced, we read books, we sang we, did it all and nope nothing. Within 2 minutes of taking her off she had filled up an entire overnight diaper with pee and another diaper right after. That girl really does not want to go on the "potty", but she pretends her babies do and will willingly go sit on it. Maybe when she's 10. So any other tricks that you know of? She's been bribed, too!

-She loves her binky and still sleeps with it at night, but I'm thinking it's time for it to go and I'm nervous about giving it up. We'll see what happens.

-She started jumping in her bed lately and so we have talked to her about that and it has ceased, but we're thinking we're going to need to transition her to a real bed soon. We're going to need that crib for baby brudah. I'm nervous about that too, because let's be honest I like her being trapped in her bed. She's never tried to get out and she likes it. So maybe after our move we'll work on sleeping in a twin bed. Oh let it go much easier than the potty training!

-She loves lotion and will keep putting it on if she can get to it. She'll also apply it all over her babies until you can barely see their faces. It's pretty funny, but she gets upset when it won't get rubbed in.

-She's recognizing shape more. The other day we were eating some Doritos and she picked one up and said to me, "triangle!". I was amazed and in awe. It's things like that, that she makes connections to or with all the time.

-I put this up on facebook, but yesterday she ate a huge breakfast and a decent lunch. After she was washed off and I took her out of her booster seat she unsnapped her skinny cords and said, "Ahhh, much better!". It made me laugh so hard. She's so funny.

-She recognizes when she's naked and announces it as well as when her babies are. She also points out to us when we're "all cleaned up" after we shower or bathe, or when doing the laundry.

-She's recognizing now when she's poopy and asks to "change a diapah". Maybe there's progress...

-She sits in a booster seat now at the table with us and loves it. So do we because she eats a ton better and does super well. It's really fun to have her right there with us. She does really with her fork and spoon and especially is good at drinking her milk from her bowl after her cereal is gone. She loves the after milk!

-She also loves froot doops, lucky charms, cinnamon crunchies (cinnamon toast crunch), oatmeal (oatmealda and the apple cinnamon is the fave right now), waffles, toast with jam or cinnamon and sugar, strawberries, bananas, applesauce, pb and pbj sandwiches, spaghetti o's, any cheese, cottage cheese and chips, broccoli, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, ranch, cheeseburgers, mint chip ice cream (gueen ice keem), tacos, handisnacks (cheese a bresticks), cooby doo fruit snacks, wintergreen lifesavers (mints), gummy worms or any gummy candy and chocolates (m&ms or cadbury eggs). She loves milk, juice and water.

-She asks for candy a lot, especially for mints or chocolates. She say, "one chalkit or one mint" and has now recently started asking for two whatevers. I've had to calm her sweet tooth down and she didn't like that when I did it to her in the store. She cried for an hour after cuz she didn't get a mint. Mainly because she just keeps asking right after I tell her no and to wait. It drives me crazy.

-She asks to play with the water in the bathroom all the time and then has to have a cup to play with too. We'll turn the sink on and she'll play in the water for a "two minutes" and brush her teeth and such. She loves it.

-She also loves to drive and constantly ask to drive for "two minutes". She'll sit in the driver seat "all by myself" and steer, turn off and on the flashers, press all the buttons and put the key in the ignition. She can't turn it yet so we're still safe, and don't worry we sit right next to her.

-In the middle of April she figured out how to turn off and on all the light switches. She loves to do that, all by herself too.

-She constantly insists that, "I do it myself" whenever she can. She loves to snap herself in her own booster seat or carseat. She loves to do the lights, lock the doors, walk up or down the stairs herself, put on her own coat, clothes or shoes, and so on. When she can't do it she says, "hep, hep!" She is quite independent or so she wants to be.

-She's figured out how to take off her pants on her own and Jake taught her how to put on her own coat. If she lays it on the floor so the tag is closest to her feet she slips her hands into the arms of the coat and whips it around her back to pull it on. It's really cute and she's so proud of herself when she does it.

-She started her own silly talk and adds gas, das, bas and such to the end of words for fun. She say, "Hi Mike and Sandigabadaba!" and things like that. It's funny and then she'll laugh. She knows how to joke and when things are funny too. She'll say no to things just to get people to laugh and so on.

-Her hair is getting longer and curlier each day. It's so cute and fun. I got it in two piggies last week and was super excited!

-She has learned how to stay all by herself without mama and dada. She stayed for a week in Boise with ga and pa while Jake and I went to NYC and did fabulous. She was amazing and loved being with them. She was a little sad the first night but never had a problem. She's so good!

-If she falls or hits something she always has to tell me, "I bonk my (knee, arm or whatever!". She never cries, but has to let me know and then keeps playing.

-She loves to smile and loves to laugh. She especially loves getting tickled and playing. She likes to play soccer in the hall with daddy and chase him around. She just loves to have fun and is always happy.

She's so cute and so fun. We love her to death! We had a friend take Reese's pics just recently and you can go to her blog to see them at raineyphotos.blogspot.com. I will figure out how to put a link on her soon and do a new post with those. She captured Reese so well and if you go there you can see the light and zest this girl has for life! That's Reese!
