Reese is 14 months now and growing and changing everyday. She sure makes us laugh and smile. Here are some things she can do and is up to these days:
-Really blows kisses on command. She puts an open hand on her mouth and pulls it away an inch or so repeatedly.
-Can show us how old she is with her fingers. She puts up her pointer finger on both hands to show that she's one when we ask her how old she is. So we're set for when she's two and eleven as well.
-She knows where her belly button, hair, fingers, bib, tummy, arms, legs, piggy toes, mouth, teeth, nose, eyes and ears are. She gets ears and eyes mixed up every once in awhile, but other than that she amazes us. We just asked her one day where some body parts were randomly and she knew exactly where they were. It's scary what she picks up so we better watch out.
-She stands on her own for extended periods of time.
-Took her first steps during Spring break in McCall and officially started doing it a week after. She'll only do it bribed or when made to do it. She doesn't walk on her own still. Hopefully someday!
-She's trying to climb on things. She puts her foot up onto any object or furniture piece and wants to, but doesn't officially do it yet.
-She's been taking super long naps from 12:30 to 3 or 4 and I like it!
-She goes to bed around 8:30pm and wakes up around 8:30am! We like this too!
-Overnight diapers are the greatest invention ever, but unfortunately some nights these don't even do it for Reese.
-She still has 8 teeth and are thinking some molars are coming in, but then again who knows.
-Reese tries to dress herself all the time. She knows things go over her head and so she tries so hard to get them on, but they usually just drape around her neck like a scarf.
-Loves to take off her shoes and socks
-Is eating a lot of big girl foods and loves strawberries or "the berry berries" as we call them. She still loves her yogurt melts and formula. Milk is still not good with her. She also loves cooked carrots, roast, mashed potatoes, peas, grandma's green beans, lasagna, spaghetti, hot dogs and crackers and CHEESES as we call them.
-She officially ate off a real plate awhile ago, but was overwhelmed. She took the spiral spaghetti noodles off and put them on her tray to then eat them. Cute and messy!
-She's a smart stinker too. She'll hold her food over the edge of her tray to drop it on the floor and waits for us to tell her no and then puts in her mouth to hear us say "Good job!". Sometimes she'll still drop it on the floor just to see what will happen.
-Loves to fold her arms when we pray and reminds us frequently to do it. The other night at dinner we had just sat down and Reese just automatically folded her arms. It was so cute because she reminded us.
-She's officially figured out how to sit in her own little rocking chair by herself. She's so proud of herself when she does it and kicks her little legs with glee.
-She might be an engineer one day. She loves to figure out how things work and play with straps, clips and so on. The other day Jake was fixing our vacuum and Reese was right down there with him. She had to see underneath it and touch everything to try and make it work. It was so cute.
-She loves or wait, I love walking with her by my side as we hold hands. My favorite!
-Still points at everything she sees
-Doesn't say mama ever since that one time and gets confused as to who's mama and dada
-Loves to stand up in the bath and try to make the shower go when we're filling up the bath
-Will lay on her back and relax in the bath for more than a second
-Loves to give her babies loves and kisses
-Loves reading books and her new favorite is Bob the Builder Let's Find Opposites don't ask me why, but she loves it
-Does really well when playing with other kids
-Her favorite place to go is on Jake's side of the bed, next to the night stand and read his books and magazines
-She makes us laugh and smile everyday with her cheeser grins and little jibberish talk
-Is growing hair at a snail's pace, but we like it like that. She has little cindy loo who hair!
-Is wearing size 4 shoes! Has big feet just like her mama!
-Was sick on Easter so she didn't get to wear her new dress! Oh well there's always next Sunday
-Talks on her cell phone backwards and we love it
-Says ya sometimes and we think she means it
-Loves pulling things out and making a mess wherever she goes
-Crawls in and out from the house onto the balcony and vice versa
-Knows where outside is and loves to be out there.
-Is really happy and we love her!
Pics to come....
